Our Man Elli in Israel, celebrating the arrival of the organized professional sport to his nation long before Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's team tries to end the game, points us to this glorious ejection and ensuing display by Phillip Wellman, manager of the Southern League's Mississippi Braves of Pearl Mississippi, the Class AA affiliate of the Atlanta Braves manager gets the big thumb.

"One of the better baseball trantrums by a manager," Elli observes with his usual economy and drollery. Sounds like Wellman's wails could be heard at the Wailing Wall!
